Modiste Host Charity Fashion Show
After seven years in Bramhall Village Square, Modiste are up to their 14th bi-annual charity fashion show and the most recent saw a spectacular presentation of their Autumn/Winter Collection at Yardbird.
These events are now a familiar part of the Bramhall calendar and have, over the years, raised a significant sum for charity. Modiste’s owner, Sue Day picked The Wellspring as the beneficiaries of this year’s efforts and the importance of Charity aspect to the fashion show was again demonstrated by another four figure contribution, an amazing £1,200.
Sue is quick to point out that so many people are required to make such an event work, “We have to thank all the local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle, as well as all the people who bought tickets of course!”
“Our models are always local people who I persuade to give it a go on the catwalk and every time we have a show most of them are terribly nervous – but they’re always brilliant.“
The evening was compered by Fiona Sadler, a familiar voice from her time at Imagine FM and Key 103. Mark and his team from Francesco’s Group tended to the models’ hair in their salon on Bramhall Lane South, while regular Fashion Show volunteers the School of Make-Up provided their services once again.
Over 100 local ladies snapped up tickets for the show with their usual enthusiasm and for that they enjoyed a two course meal, a welcome drink and of course, a peak at Modiste’s new Autumn/Winter range.
