Bramhall Festival 2021

It was Christmas 2019 when Bramhall Together Trust last hosted a major public event in the village, which made the return of Bramhall Festival in July all the more enjoyable.

Once again Bramhall Lane South was the centre of attention with the road closed for a main stage and the Worker Bee Market, while the traditional Record Fair was held under cover in the Village Square. The week before the event it looked like that cover might be needed, with an 80% chance of rain being forecast but as things turned out the weather was fine and hundreds of people came down to the village, getting a taste of actually going out and doing things again!

It was also good to see some of our local bars and restaurants having such a good day, setting up their food and drink offer on the main road and benefiting from the huge numbers of people who came down.

The theme this year’s Festival was ‘The Summer of Love’ and the spirit of Woodstock could be felt in front of the main stage. The big news this year was the return of Bramhall’s Got Talent which took place in the morning – well done to Leonni – who won – and a big thanks to the judges for taking time out of their day to watch the acts. Was the competition was over the stage hosted a full variety of musical entertainment for the rest of the day, from local and not-so-local performers, all organised by Strawberry Radio.

So it was a long wait but it was great to have the Festival back. Well done to the small group of people behind Bramhall Together Trust for making it happen and here’s looking forward to the return of Light Up Bramhall as we approach Christmas
